Approach focused on nutritional valorization of Unconventional Food Plants as a food alternative for Goiás society

Unconventional Food Plants (UFP) can be a nutritious and healthy alternative in food, being the subject of this extension action. During the research, cultivation, management, nutritional and chemical studies are carried out. In addition, workshops on the culinary use of UFP are prepared with a view to stimulating consumption by the society. It is also planned to prepare materials that include information about IFP in the region of Goiás, which can bring benefits to human health.

Plants of the Guerreiras de Canudos: actions of interaction between the culture and knowledge of the community and the production of technological innovations

This action is carried out with the Guerreiras de Canudos, who live in the Canudos Settlement, located on the border of the municipalities of Campestre, Guapó and Palmeiras de Goiás, in Goiás. The objective is to promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge, obtained through teaching and research carried out by the team members, and to articulate this scientific knowledge with the needs of the community, interacting and transforming its social reality.

Study of medicinal plants used by the community of the Centro de Especialidades em Práticas Integrativas e Complementares (CREMIC), Goiânia/Goiás: subsidies for biodiversity conservation

This work comprises the ethnobotanical survey of medicinal plants used by the community of the Centro de Especialidades em Práticas Integrativas e Complementares (CREMIC) from Goiânia/GO, in order to rescue the popular knowledge about the use of native plants from the Cerrado. The bibliometric analysis will also be applied to analyze and build indicators on the dynamics and evolution of data related to plants mentioned by the community. The socialization of this study with the community will be carried out by preparing and distributing a book containing the data of the study plants.
